About Children and Youth at Risk

"This was the first time I've seen a group of youngsters from the neighborhood organizing something for other children. We're used to seeing the neighborhood kids hanging around in the parks at night getting bored and starting to vandalize public property. It's great to see our boys and girls showing us a different side of the neighborhood."- A local mother made a point of expressing her appreciation for the implementation of

Better Together in her Rosh HaAyin neighborhood.

Target Populations

To address the problems facing Israel's children and youth at risk, Ashalim targets its programs to different groups – according to age, by cultural background, by geographic region, and by the challenges and level of risk that they face. We aim to help these groups of children and youth at risk as they grow and develop. In addition, Ashalim is there to meet the urgent needs of children and youth whose well-being is placed at risk suddenly due to terror or war-related experiences.

In order to minimize risk factors and improve available care, Ashalim works with a wide variety of services with which children and youth at risk and their parents interface, including health clinics, schools, community services, welfare departments, out-of-home placements, and juvenile justice services.
